June 4 saw Northeastern University (NEU) held a ceremony for hailing the returned script of Chang Hsueh-liang after its travel in space brought by Lu Jie, a Chinese-American spaceman in September 2000.
The script "cultivating and nurturing talents", was written by the honorary president of NEU Chang Hsueh-liang in 1993.
Zang Yingnian, Lu Jie's uncle, said on People's Daily Overseas Edition that Lu Jie was enrolled by the US National Aeronautic & Space Administration (NASA) in 1995 and became a formal spaceman after a one-year training.
When Chang Hsueh-liang held the post of honorary president of NEU in the 1920s, Zang Qifang, Lu Jie's grandfather, was the dean of NEU and took over the president of NEU in 1937-1947.
According to NASA, spacemen may take some small souvenirs in their travel in space after examination.
