Sarira Pagoda at Chengde Mountain Resort in Hebei Province
Built in 1751 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the octagonal brick pagoda of nine storeys is seventy meters high. The pent roofs of each storey are all built of yellow, green and other colorful] glazed tiles. The top of the pagoda is crowned with a gilded round spire. The whole image is lofty, colorful and bright. Shining in dazzling splendor against a background of green trees, it makes art out-standing landmark of the summer resort.
