Pavilion Rebuilt in Yongji City
The construction of an eight-floor pavilion replicating a famous ancient Chinese tower was completed recently in Yongji City of northern Shanxi Province. Overlooking the Yellow River, the pavilion was named after Guanquelou, or Stork Watching Tower, one of China's best-known ancient towers. The tower was built in 580 and destroyed during wars in 1272.
