Adjust font size:

To meet the fast growing demand for aviation service, Zhuhai in South China's Guangdong Province will host China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, or Airshow China, in November 2008, Chen Ying, vice-mayor of Zhuhai, said yesterday.

The event will feature real-size products, trade talks, technological exchanges and air shows.

The show takes place biennially in Zhuhai every even-number year.

The exhibition will highlight the market prospects and cooperative opportunities in China for aviation and aerospace manufacturing industries, civil transport industry, general aviation, aviation infrastructure construction, aviation safety, space exploration, missile weapons and other related fields.

It also provides a platform for technical exchanges and trade cooperation among aerospace enterprises all over the world.

"The preparation work for Airshow China 2008 is well under way. China's aviation and aerospace giants will make all-out efforts to showcase their latest technology and products and invite international cooperation," said Chen.

"It is expected that more domestic high-end products, equipment and technologies will make their debut at Airshow China 2008. With the participation of suppliers from related fields and non-State-owned sectors, the composition of exhibitors will be greatly optimized," Chen told a press conference in Hong Kong yesterday.

"Airshow China 2008 is taking place on the back of China's fast-growing aviation and aerospace industries," he said.

"It therefore draws more attention from central government leaders calling for more efforts to further enrich the exhibits for the show and to elevate the status, competitiveness, effectiveness of the show as a 'national event'," he added.

With the rapid development of China's aerospace industries, many domestic aerospace companies are eager to attend Airshow China 2008.
