Chinese customs authorities reported Sunday a 22 percent year-on-year rise in revenues in the first nine months, fueled by the country's booming trade.
Net revenues rose to 562.4 billion yuan (US$74.99 billion), up from 462 billion yuan in the same period last year, according to the General Administration of Customs.
As China tried to expand imports and curb processing trade, imports in non-processing trade surged 24.6 percent year on year to US$309.5 billion in the first nine months, serving as a major contributor to the revenues.
From January to September, China's exports rose 27.1 percent to US$878.2 billion, while imports were up 19.1 percent to US$692.6 billion.
