Confronting the huge gain in page viewing by its rival Baidu that is dependent upon MP3 download searches, Google sources said they are going to again adjust their localized competitive strategy to cooperate with Top100.cn, providing free listening and genuine music copies downloads, the China Business News reported on Wednesday.
The cooperation will mark Google's premiere in China's online music market.
The cooperation allows Google to provide music listening and downloading services on web pages with copyrights offered by Top100.cn. Songs might be provided by dozens of music production companies and Google will profit from ads.
Three shareholders - sports celebrity Yao Ming, Yao's agent Zhang Mingji and music insider Chen Ge founded Top100.cn. They allegedly invested 20 million yuan (US$2.78 million).
