On February 18, a report from Hong Kong media quoted a mainland source, saying that after the parliamentary sessions in the first half of March, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) would work with the Shanghai Stock Exchange to accelerate red chip stocks' return into the A-share market. They would try their best to land China Mobile into the A-share market during the first half of this year or by August at the latest. China Mobile, however, has not confirmed the information.
The report also disclosed that papers concerning red chip companies' issuing A shares have been submitted to the State Council for approval. It is very likely that the CSRC would issue official documents in regard to this matter by April at the earliest.
