Military Honors System
In his report to the 19th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping unveiled a plan to develop the military honors system ensuring that service members are held in high regard. Measures to ensure respect for service members are considered necessary to attract more qualified people into military services and develop service personnel's dedication and sense of honor, so as to provide better cohesion, increase retention, and boost morale. Such measures should include, among others, better veteran services, preferential policies for military personnel, tributes to families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, efforts to raise public awareness about the importance of national defense, creation of a military awards system, organization of major military ceremonies and events, and nurture of an inspiring military culture.
构建完善军人荣誉体系
2017年10月18日，习近平在中国共产党第十九次全国代表大会的报告中提出，推进军人荣誉体系建设，让军人成为全社会尊崇的职业。军人荣誉体系建设，旨在增强军事职业吸引力和军人使命感、荣誉感，以更好凝聚军心、稳定部队、鼓舞士气，主要包括加强退役军人保障工作、完善军人优待政策、健全烈士褒扬机制、加强全民国防教育、完善军队奖励表彰制度、规范军队重要仪式活动、强化军营文化熏陶等内容。
