Energy-Saving and Eco-Friendly Industries

Energy-saving and eco-friendly industries provide material and technological support for conserving energy and resources, developing a circular economy, and protecting the eco-environment. Covering energy-saving, recycling and eco-friendly equipment manufacturing, they are among the seven emerging industries of strategic importance that will be developed at a faster pace in China.

In August 2013, the State Council issued a document on accelerating the development of energy-saving and eco-friendly industries, which set clear goals, specified key sectors, and rolled out multiple support policies.

Speaking at the National Conference on Eco-environmental Protection in May 2018, Xi Jinping urged changes in the economic structure and energy mix, and called for stronger energy-saving and eco-friendly industries, clean manufacturing industries, and clean energy industries.

Stronger energy-saving and eco-friendly industries will support pollution control and help meet the people's desire for a pleasant eco-environment. They will promote a sound economic structure that facilitates green, low-carbon, circular and high-quality development, help develop new growth areas for economic transformation, boost green consumption, and foster green lifestyles.

节能环保产业

节能环保产业，即为节约能源资源、发展循环经济、保护生态环境提供物质基础和技术保障的产业，分为节能产业、资源循环利用产业和环保装备产业，是国家加快培育和发展的7个战略性新兴产业之一。

2013年8月，国务院印发《关于加快发展节能环保产业的意见》，对中国节能环保产业发展作出规划，明确提出产业发展目标和重点发展领域，并推出多方面具体支持政策。2018年5月，习近平在全国生态环境保护大会上强调，调整经济结构和能源结构，培育壮大节能环保产业、清洁生产产业、清洁能源产业。

培育壮大节能环保产业是打赢污染防治攻坚战，满足人民优美生态环境需要的基本支撑；是构建绿色低碳循环发展经济体系，形成经济高质量发展的重要抓手；是培育新的经济增长点，实现经济转型增长的重要内容；是推进形成绿色消费、培育绿色生活方式的重要途径。
