Shanghai Cooperation Organization

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was established on June 15, 2001. Its founding members were China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. By July, 2023, the number of SCO member states has increased from 6 to 9. The Council of Heads of State is the supreme body of the SCO. It holds a regular meeting every year hosted by the rotating presidency to make decisions and instructions on major issues within the organization.

The SCO is the epitome of harmonious coexistence of countries with different political systems and cultures. Over the past 20 years since its establishment, it has always followed the "Shanghai spirit" of "mutual trust, mutual benefits, equality, consultation, respect for diverse civilizations, and pursuit of common development" and stayed committed to the cause of world peace and development and human progress. It has blazed a path of cooperation and development that conforms to regional realities and the needs of all parties and made important theoretical and practical explorations on building a new type of international relations and a global community of shared future.

上海合作组织

上海合作组织成立于2001年6月15日,创始成员国为中国、俄罗斯、哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、塔吉克斯坦、乌兹别克斯坦。截至2023年7月,上海合作组织成员国由6 个增至9个。成员国元首理事会是上海合作组织最高机构, 每年举行一次例会,由轮值主席国举办,就组织内所有重大问题作出决定和指示。

上海合作组织是不同政治制度、不同文化国家和谐共处的典范。成立20多年来,上海合作组织始终遵循“互信、互利、平等、协商、尊重多样文明、谋求共同发展”的“上海精神”,致力于世界和平与发展和人类进步事业,走出了一条符合地区实际、契合各方需求的合作与发展道路,为构建新型国际关系和人类命运共同体作出重要理论和实践探索。
