Sun Jiazheng (1944-), native of Siyang, Jiangsu Province.
Joined CPC, 1966. Graduated from the Dept. of Chinese Language of Nanjing University, 1968.

Served as secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Luhe County Committee, Jiangsu, 1973-1974; secretary of CPC People's Commune Committee of Luhe County, 1974-1975; secretary of CYLC Nanjing City Committee, Jiangsu, 1978-1982; deputy secretary and secretary of CYLC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, 1982-1983; elected member of Standing Committee and secretary-general of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, 1984; secretary of CPC Xuzhou City Committee, Jiangsu, 1984-1986.
Appointed secretary and head of Publicity Department of CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, 1989. Served as minister of Radio, Film and Television, 1994-1998.

Appointed minister of Culture, March 1998.

Alternate member of 12th, 13th and 14th CPC Central Committees; member of 15th and 16th CPC Central Committees.

Re-appointed minister of Culture, March 2003.
