The top leadership of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will meet the press after election Monday morning.

State TV, radio networks and key websites will live broadcast the event scheduled for 11 AM.

The 17th CPC National Congress elected Sunday the 371-member Central Committee, which convenes its first plenary session Monday morning and elects its general secretary, members and alternate members of its political bureau, and members of the political bureau's standing committee.

The CPC Constitution requires general secretary be chosen from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau.

The Central Committee will approve secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, who will be elected by the 127 members of the commission also on Monday.

The Central Committee will also decide chairman, vice chairmen and members of the Central Military Commission.
