Director Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers, is already a flying commercial success. Promotions for the movie began even before shooting was complete. An extravagant gala with stars and singers was held on Saturday night at Beijing's Workers' Stadium for the film's premiere.

Zhang Yimou's House of Flying Daggers, is set to gallop forward at full speed into being China's biggest summer blockbuster.

This month, the film will take its audience into a world of martial arts with a heavy dose of romance.

The premiere in Workers' Stadium on Saturday night, kicks off the excitement for the much anticipated film.
 
The screening of Beauty and Pureness is said to be a major part of the premiere. It's a documentary that shows how the film developed from just an idea to a big budget project. It recounts all the trials and challenges experienced along the way.

The premiere is a dazzling three-hour show filled with stars and singers. In addition to the appearance of the complete star-studded cast, some of the most popular singers will also be present. They include Jonathan Lee and S.H.E. from Taiwan, Kelly Chan from Hongkong, Pu Shu and Han Hong from the Chinese mainland, and American opera singer Kathleen Battle.
