Faye Wong Promotes Beijing Concert

Beijing born pop diva Faye Wong has finally made it back to her hometown. Earlier this week, she spoke to journalists about her solo concert, to be held in the Chinese capital on August 28.

Faye Wang's Beijing concert is the fifth stop of her Asia tour. After successful performances in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xi'an and Chengdu, many are predicting Wang's Beijing concert will be another hit.

At the press conference, her fans dressed themselves up in Faye Wong's signature styles, and presented her with a "love" cheque. Wong said it was enough to support her for her whole life. She also added that flamboyant attire and fancy stage settings will not be the focus of her show.

Faye Wong, said, "Once upon a time, I was really interested in versatile styles and fancy costumes. I looked for constant changes in my appearances. But I haven't been that concerned about this recently. So I'm not sure if my fans will be surprised by this."

Wong was confident about ticket sales, even though her concert was facing competition from a number of other shows held in Beijing recently. She said, "I think different singers have different audiences bases. I have my own and I don't think we will influence each other. As for ticket sales...I think you should ask the sponsors. If they don't have the confidence in me, they shouldn't have held this concert. I'm not worried about anything."

The Chinese pop queen has kept a low profile in recent years, concentrating more on her music. Although she may have shed much of the glamour her followers are used to, fans can still expect to feel her charm through her music.
