At a grand opening ceremony Thursday, Art Center Henan, the biggest art venue in the province, greeted its visitors in Zhengzhou, central Henan's capital city.
An opening ceremony of Art Center Henan is held in Zhengzhou, central China's Henan province, on Thursday November 30, 2007.
With an investment of 1 billion RMB, the art center has a construction area of 77,000 square meters. It includes two threatres, with a big one having 1800 seats and a small multi-functional one offering 380 seats. It also has an 800 seat concert hall and two art galleries.
Designed by a Canadian architect, the art center well resembles abstract models of three major ancient Chinese wind musical instruments, the Xun (a porcelain wind music piece), the pan-pipes and the bone-flute, which, all unearthed in Henan, could date back to 2500 to 8700 years.
