China's noted Zhongshan University in the southern province of Guangdong will recruit about 100 high school graduates from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions this year.
Bian Yu, who is charge of recruiting students for the university, said that in cooperation with the relevant educational departments and organizations, the entrance examination in Macao would be held on April 27.
Students in Hong Kong have until the end of June to register for the examination, which is expected to be held at the end of June or the beginning of July.
Following Jinan University and Overseas Chinese University, Zhongshan University is the third mainland university to win the right to recruit students independently from Hong Kong and Macao.
Bian said the university hopes it can attract more excellent students from Hong Kong and Macao and strengthen the communication between local students and those from the two regions.
Zhongshan University, which merged with the former Zhongshan Medical Sciences University in October 2001, is located in the provincial capital Guangzhou.
