University Entrance Exam to Be Held as Scheduled
The State Council, China's cabinet, has issued a notice calling on governments at all levels and relevant agencies to go all out in the fight against the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) so as to ensure that nationwide university entrance examination are held as scheduled.

According to a source with the General Office of the State Council on Thursday, the entrance examination is still scheduled for June 7-10.

Government departments and agencies are reminded to give top priority to the local anti-SARS combat while fully implementing the thoughts of the "Three Represents" theory.

The enhanced management, good planning and strict disciplines are encouraged, the notice said, so as to guarantee the health and safety of students and teachers and to ensure that the entrance examination proceeds smoothly.
