A complete book on the general history of ethnic Mongolians has been finished by the Publishing House of the Inner Mongolia University.
A group of Chinese historians spent nearly 20 years to compile the book on the basis of the latest research on the Mongolian ethnic group. The book contains 2 million Chinese characters in five volumes.
In the past, many books had been published on the history of Mongolia, but the new book is the most complete, said Zhao Ying, deputy editor-in-general of the publishing house.
The first four volumes of the book deal with the origin of the Mongolian People, and its relations with the governments of different dynasties in ancient China. The fifth volume tells of the development of ethnic Mongolians within the territory of the China in modern times.
