Art troupes in Beijing are busy preparing for the peak performing season in the latter half of this year. Audiences in Beijing will have special performances to choose from the beginning of June.
China Central Ballet Troupe resumed its rehearsals and training in early May. At present, ballerinas are busy preparing shows for performances in France in November. Traditional Chinese repertoires, including "Raise the Red Lantern", are being readapted. The head of the troupe said their schedule for around-the-country performances will not change.
The head said, "We used to stage 80 performances each year. But due to special reasons this year, the number of performances will be reduced. However, we will pay more attention to the quality of our performances."
Artists from the China National Orchestra are also busy rehearsing new music shows. They plan to stage 30 large shows in the latter half of the year.
Besides these professional performing artists, some amateur art troupes in the city have also been busy preparing for the upcoming peak performing season as well.
