Jurassic Park Dinosaurs will Cast a Horror Spell on Locals
Do you remember the huge prehistoric creatures in Steven Spielberg's movie "Jurassic Park?" Well, they are now coming to Shanghai.

A total of 81 "dinosaurs" featured in the film will be on show at an exhibition -- Jurassic Kingdom -- to be held at Luxun Park in Hongkou District from June 22 to August 2.

All the huge plastic creatures are from the United States, with the biggest one being 15 meters high and nine meters wide.

Each of the dinosaurs can move and roar. And the night view is said to be more authentic, since the light effects, which will be turned on from 7 to 10 pm every day, help make the scene "horribly exciting."

The Beijing-based Qingmeiyi Culture & Art Co invested 5 million yuan (US$602,000) in the project, including US$250,000 to rent the dinosaurs for one year.

"After the 40-day show in Shanghai, the dinosaurs will tour Dalian, Wuhan, Kunming and Hong Kong," said Wang Lin, the company president, adding the tickets will be priced at 50 yuan.

Last August when the exhibition was held in Beijing, it attracted 390,000 people, bringing in 20 million yuan for the organizers, he said.

The exhibition was previously scheduled for April 30 to June 10 but was postponed because of SARS, which caused more than 300,000 yuan in losses, Wang said.
