For most Beijing fans, they had never been this close to their idol. His fans could ask for Jay Chow's autograph, present him flowers on stage, or even shake hands and hug the star. And they could do so without the fear of being dragged away by the singer's bodyguards.
The mini-concert on the night of September 15 was Jay Chow's move to build closer links to his mainland fans. And also to thank them for their faithful support.
In his early 20's, Jay Chow is the hottest singer on Taiwan island at the moment. On the night of September 12, he gave a sell-out concert at the Workers' Stadium, his first ever Beijing show.
Jay Chow, a singer, said:"Personally, I think the concert was a huge success. I'm inclined to be influenced by other people. So if the fans are excited, I can be very high when singing."
Jay Chow wrapped up the night with a song he sang with a loyal fan. The fan got caught up in the moment, crying tears of happiness while speaking to her favorite singer.
The mini-concert was Jay Chow last event in Beijing. He says he won't be back in the city for some time, since he'll be working hard on his new songs in his hometown on Taiwan island.
