A book by former Vice Premier Li Lanqing on education has been published, giving an account of the achievements and experiences of China's education reform over the past decade, it was announced here Tuesday.
Li Lanqing, elected twice as China's vice premier in the past 10 years, was in charge of the education sector. His book, in the form of a series of interviews, tells of the historical events and policy-making background in the field and summarize the experience of the Chinese education work.
The book, with more than 300,000 characters, not only chronicles major events in the country's education cause, but his own life experience, interests and hobbies, as well as leisure time activities.
State Councilor Chen Zhili said at a symposium on the book here Tuesday that Li Lanqing, as a core member of China's third generation leadership, dedicated himself to leading and pushing forward the education reform and development.
She expressed the hope that the book would help advance the education reform and create a sound environment for the whole society to care about and support education.
