Representatives of students from a dozen top universities in China gathered at Beijing (Peking) University Tuesday, to marked the 68th anniversary of the "December 9" patriotic student movement.

The participants sang patriotic songs to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs and highlight their patriotic spirit.

In recent days, similar activities, in various forms, have been conducted by university students in other cities, according to sources at the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League and the All-China Federation of Students.

Meanwhile, many students have visited websites with the theme of patriotism to present flowers and pay tribute to the martyrs on-line.
