A museum on sex culture in ancient China reopened on Sunday after being relocated from Shanghai to Tongli, an ancient town 80 km away from this oriental metropolis, in Jiangsu Province.
According to Liu Dalin, founder of the museum, over 4,000 items are on display and are arranged into four categories at the relocated museum, including a score of cultural relics dating back over 5,000 years, as well as antiques used for women's foot-binding, and bridal sedan chairs.
All the exhibits displayed at the museum, first established in Shanghai in 1994 by now 72-year-old Liu, a professor with Shanghai University, were collected by Liu and his colleagues over the years.
Liu noted that when the museum was located in Shanghai, 70 percent of the visitors were from overseas.
