Hongkong Post issued Wednesday "The People's Liberation Army Forces, Hong Kong (the PLA (HK))" special stamps, which attracted more than 100 people to queue outside the General Post Office in the morning.
Hongkong Post issued a set of six stamps featuring the various faces of the forces. Allan Chiang, Hong Kong's postmaster general, said at a ceremony that he hoped the new stamp issue can draw the public closer to the PLA(HK) and get them to understand the revered "Guardian Angels of Hong Kong."
At the ceremony, Major General Wang Yuren, chief of staff of the People's Liberation Army Forces, Hong Kong, and Allan Chiang marked the issue of the special stamps by stamping a blow-up first day cover.
As a memento of the occasion, Chiang presented to Wang and Tony Ho, designer of these special stamps, framed stamps and first day covers.
