Primary school teachers from the city of Zhengzhou in central China's Henan Province are the stars of a 2007 school calendar, a breakthrough in an industry dominated by movie stars and models.

 

 

A primary school in central China's Henan Province has made a calendar featuring its team of beautiful, talented female teachers.

 

Local newspapers report the Wewulu Primary School has elected to feature its team of beautiful, talented female teachers in its 2007 calendar. From January to December, the teachers are shown smiling sweetly in their Sunday best.

 

School principal Yi Furong says the calendar was created after a number of dramatic changes at the school. Less than 2 years after it was established, Wewulu Primary School has changed its name four times and restructured its management twice. But despite all the difficulties and setbacks, the school is still confident it is on the right track. Yi Furong says that's why the first calendar has been named, "A Hundred Reasons for Happiness". It's a new year's gift to her staff, designed to encourage a stronger team spirit and harder work.

 

Since it was released on Sunday, the calendars have become popular with the school's students and their parents, as well as the teachers.

 

One parent delighted to receive her copy of the calendar and said it was a lovely, warm idea. The calendar has helped to make parents and their children feel much closer to the school and its teachers.
