A 100-member delegation of Yale University students and faculty concluded their 10-day China trip on Thursday, calling the tour "wonderful" and "fruitful".
They were here at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, who visited Yale and delivered a speech there last year during his state visit to the US.
During stay in Shanghai, China's economic hub, the Yale students visited China's prestigious Fudan University and had in-depth discussions with Fudan students and teachers on diversified topics such as occupational programming, education and public health.
Vice President of Yale University Bruce Alexander said he believes the two universities enjoy profound friendship and the two countries have broad potential in cooperation in personnel training and scientific research.
The delegation also visited Beijing and Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, met with Chinese students, scholars and government officials, and toured major cultural and historical sites. They visited ordinary families as well.
President Hu Jintao met with these Yale University students and faculty last Wednesday, calling on the youth of the two countries to learn from each other, promote mutual understanding and friendship, and contribute to stable development of bilateral relations.
