Wang Jingcheng, a new graduate from Changchun University of Science and Technology in northeastern Jilin Province, has earned a lot of money during his four-year university life - through part-time jobs.
Wang Jingcheng, a new university graduate, is proud of the 8,500 coins he earned from part-time jobs.
Wang was born to a poor family in the countryside -- with disabled parents. One of his sisters had discontinued her study because of poverty and another sister is still in high school.
Wang began to do part-time jobs from the first term he entered university in 2003. He worked as a home tutor until 2006. From March 2006, he began to sell snacks and earned good money from his efforts, City Evening News reported.
He could earn at least 1,000 yuan every month by selling snacks. He used the money to pay his way, pay his sister's tuition fees, and also to assist his parents.
Wang's new part-time job brought him many coins. He began to keep them to cherish the memory of his university life. After more than one year, at the time he was about to graduate, he had earned 8,500 one-jiao coins.
Wang intends to exchange these coins into notes before he leaves university because of logistical difficulties. He hopes that a coin collector could keep these hard-earned coins and give them a 'new home'.
