"Key college graduates wanted, as 24-hour tutor for my son", a rare such post on a website forum in north China's city of Tianjin has received hot clicks during the past month.
The payment for the job seems good enough: 200,000 yuan if the son is admitted to an A-list university; and 100,000 if he goes to a B-list one, according to the locally-based Morning Post.
The generous father, from Cangzhou city of north China's Hebei Province, claimed in a telephone interview that his son, a grade two student in a key high school in Cangzhou, has been scoring poorly in exams.
Being a successful businessman himself, the father is willing to spend heavily for the future of his son, who is expected to be the first college student in the whole family if his son can live up to his expectation.
He is looking for "a male, graduated from a key university," and the employee would spend two years with his son until the national college entrance examination when he finishes high school. He will only be allowed to go home during the summer and winter vacations.
Besides the high salary mentioned above, the tutor would have to live with the son in a house near the high school, and have a maid in charge of the housework.
"All I want is for my son to be enrolled in a good university," the father was quoted as saying.
By far more than ten applicants have made phone contacts, but none has succeeded in gaining a face-to-face interview, said the father.
Some college teachers have expressed their doubts. One thing makes a qualified college student, according to them, is the ability of independently study and analyze. Even though the son managed to go to college, his future will be uncertain without such 24-hour backup.
