Among the newly elected chairman and vice chairpersons, whose average age is 3.5 years lower than that of the last term, are 13 representatives of non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and nonparty personages, five people of ethnic minorities and two women. The Standing Committee of the 10th CPPCC National Committee includes 195 non-Communist people, or 65.2 percent of the total. There are also 37 people of ethnic minorities and 35 women on the committee. The average age of the Standing Committee members is 61.9 years, down 2.2 years from the last term.
