Renowned Hong Kong singer Gigi Leung could not fight back tears while recording her new Mandarin album Love Song For Myself, due to be released later this month. 

The album's title song, Never Knew Love Hurts So Much, is a window into Gigi's inner feelings about her controversial breakup with fellow Hong Kong singer/actor Ekin Cheng. 

The couple split earlier this year after a seven-year relationship. It is reported Gigi could not stop crying during the recording of this album and often could not recover from her emotional state. 　

While promoting the album earlier last month, the record company had promoters dressed as bandaged voodoo dolls on streets. Gigi herself was bandaged to express her wounded heart.
