39-year-old Taiwan actress Wu Chien-Lien or Jacqueline Wu secretly married in Las Vegas last month. The marriage was confirmed on Thursday by her assistant.

Wearing her self-designed cheongsam, Wu Chien-Lien held a simple secret ceremony on July 3 without the presence of the newlyweds' parents and friends. However, this is not a casual decision, and she had told her father about the wedding plan earlier.

The bridegroom, who works outside the entertainment industry, had dated her for three years. But Wu kept a low profile and refused to say his name in order to protect the relationship.

Wu insisted that she had no intentions of retiring from acting after getting married, her assistant Cora revealed.
