Taiwan's highly popular rock band Mayday returned to Beijing on Saturday night, raising the curtain on the Beijing chapter of their Jump the World Tour.

The band will perform again at the Beijing Exhibition Theater on Sunday.

The limited venue was jam-packed on Saturday. Some three thousand fans turned up to see their idols.

Hit songs from Mayday's decade-long career were performed one after another.

The five-member band has gained a large fan base in the Chinese capital through several previous shows.

Jump the World Tour has already taken the band to Hong Kong in May and Singapore in June.

They will next head to North America later in the month, playing in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles, before returning to Asia with a show in Tokyo on October 7, then finally wrapping up the tour in Shanghai on October 20.
