In the recent campaign to select ten charity stars nationwide, Sun Li was the only actress nominated.

The campaign was jointly organized by China Association of Social Workers, Chinese Red Cross Foundation, and China Charity Federation, aimed to praise those who have contributed a lot to philanthropy work and to mobilize more people to join the activity. 

Sun Li was very happy upon hearing the news, saying "Doing charity work itself is a happy thing for me. It is meaningful to help others."

When shooting "Jade Goddess of Mercy", Sun Li helped to build two primary schools for children in poor areas in southwestern Yunnan province. She also tried to improve the living environment for the blind in Shanghai when she filmed for movie "Fearless".

In the recent three years, she was appointed as the spokeswoman for Shanghai Small Animal Protection Association, Chinese Red Cross Foundation and Lifeline Express.
