Two TV stations ordered to call off sex programs
Adjust font size:

China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) has ordered two TV stations in east China's Zhejiang Province to stop airing sex themed programs.

The administration has ordered Taizhou TV Station and Huangyan TV Station to stop broadcasting such programs, noting they have violated related regulations, according to a notice issued on SARFT's official website.

Earlier, the SARFT had issued a circular in September banning radio and TV commercials and programs involving drugs, sex-related health supplements, drugs for sexually transmitted diseases, sex toys, as well as "vulgar" ads for breast enhancement and female underwear.

The SARFT said the Zhejiang provincial administration of Radio, Film and Television has criticized the leaders of the two TV stations and ordered them to strictly examine their programs and make corrections as soon as possible on Dec. 4.

The two TV stations have stopped broadcasting related programs and punished related staffs. The two TV stations also promised they will not violate the related regulations anymore, according to the SARFT.
