Mt. Wudang to Apply for World Natural Heritage List

Central China's Hubei Province is ready to submit Wudang Mountain, one of the most famous mountains in China, as a World Natural Heritage Site.

According to Zhu Jianhua, head of the Cultural Heritage Office of the Hubei Provincial Government, Wudang Mountain, located in the northwest of the province, is one of the most famous mountains in China. Many experts hold the opinion that Wudang Mountain is completely qualified to be submitted as World Natural Heritage site.

Presently, 29 natural and cultural sites in China are on the World Heritages List, including Wuyi Mountain, Yellow Mountain, and Emei Mountain.
