Officials at the State Environmental Protection Bureau say China will further improve the management system to protect biological diversity.
May 22nd is the 11th International Day of Biological Diversity, and theme for this year is "Biological Diversity: Life Protection of the Changing World."
The country will legalize the protection of biological diversity, launch nationwide investigations on biological species recourses, formalize the protection and proper use of biological resources for sustainable development of species resources, and devise strategies to protect biological resources patents.
Rich in biological diversity, China ranks among the top list in the number of plant and animal species in the world, but problems like serious losses in biological genetic resources still exist.
