Chinese Pandas to Go Wild

Southwestern Sichuan Province plans to let Chinese giant pandas raised in captivity to go wild when conditions permit.

China let one giant panda to go wild in 2003, and now, after two years of wild natural life, the panda has adapted well to its natural habitat.

The pioneering project shows that pandas raised in captivity will meet no big obstacles when released from human care. Now China has built 55 reservation parks for wild pandas and those raised by people.

It is expected that the rare species will be well protected in the wild, alongside human efforts to increase the number of pandas in parks.
