A forest fire breaking out Wednesday morning in Hulun Buir City of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been put out by Thursday afternoon, local police said.
After a 24-hour battle against the fire by forestry workers and police, the fiery flames have been quenched and their work turned to a thorough clearance of the scene of fire, which is easily waked due to strong winds. Commonly, a similar period of time is required to do the job.
No casualties have so far been reported in the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
