The first China Gingko Festival will be held in Taixing, a riverside city in east China's Jiangsu Province on September 24 and 25 2002.
As the home of gingko, Taixing has been growing gingko trees for over 1,400 years, and its output of gingko is one-third of the total in China. It now has more than 4.5 million trees, of which 121 are more than 500 years old and 12 are over 1,000 years old.
During the two-day festival, visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful gingko woods, taste the gingko fruit and take part in various activities.
