Shenyang has set up a bus station in the name of the city's environmental protection bureau.
The city has spent 1.909 billion yuan in transforming and expanding its more than 100 roads with a total area of 7.51 million square meters and making ten boulevards picturesque, an effort unprecedented in the annals of the city.
As the city's environmental protection bureau is located in downtown Shenyang neighboring on the shopping center it applied to have a bus station in front of its building named after the bureau.
According to Shi Qijin, the bureau chief, the application has finally succeeded through a series of examinations and approvals. The move is designed to raise the environmental protection awareness of the citizens, he said.
