The Huaxi (Flower Stream) town in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, has attained the SEPA-listed 26 standards for a town with a beautiful environment, environmentalists believe.
The town is applying for the title to the State Environmental Protection Administration.
The town boasts of a ten-mile river scene, an ecological farm, a park, a boulevard and a reservoir. It invested 170 million yuan (US$20.5 million) in renovating its highway, a reservoir and a park square and 331 million yuan (US$40 million) in improving the river scene by building a sewage disposal network covering 6.7 kilometers and a wastewater disposal center at Heke.
