Over 100 towns in southwest China's Chongqing municipality plan to build waste treatment plants to tackle their rapidly growing garbage problems.
The first twelve plants are expected to be completed this year. Each will be able to deal with some 30 tons of waste a day.
When the whole project is finished, the garbage of more than 40 percent of the towns in the area will be disposed of without pollution.
