A golden yellow camellia blossom is being exhibited at the Beijing Vivarium. The rare plant symbolizes fortune and has inherited the nick-name "vegetable panda."
Yellow camellia blossoms are extremely rare and have been placed high on the list of plants protected by the state.
The golden camellia can only be grown in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Scientists have long made efforts to grow the flower in northern regions of China, which has now been realized thanks to the development of advanced growing techniques.
