The China Air Transport Association (CATA) stopped providing paper flight tickets on October 16, a move working to popularize electronic air tickets in China by the end of 2006, a spokesperson said. The decision is in line with an International Air Transport Association (IATA) move that requires its 261 member airlines to abandon paper tickets by the end of 2007. At present, 90 percent of China's air tickets are electronic, an IATA official announced on December 13.
