Due to the joint efforts of the CPC and the KMT Left-wingers the Third Plenary Session of the Second Central Committee of the KMT, convened in Wuhan in March 1927, passed a resolution to limit the power of Chiang Kaishek. Among the executive members to the congress were Soong Ching Ling (Madame Sun Yat-sen, sixth from left, front row), Wu Yuzhang (tenth from left, front row), Dong Biwu (second from left, middle row), Mao Zedong (eighth from left, middle row), Lin Boqu (ninth from left, middle row), Yun Daiying (seventh from left, back row) and Deng Yanda (eighth from left, back row).
