Northwest China: January 1-2, western and northern Xinjiang and eastern parts of the region will be overcast with light to moderate snow. January 3-4, northern Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia and eastern Qinghai and Shaanxi will have overcast skies and light snow accompanied by force 4 to 5 northerly winds. Northern Xinjiang will blow force 5 to 6 winds and temperatures in most parts of the region will fall 4 to 10 Celsius degrees. January 5-6, most of the region will be dominated by sunny skies with force 4 to 5 northerly winds expected in eastern parts.

 

North China: January 1, the region will be mainly sunny to cloudy. January 2-3, southern parts will be overcast with light snow and fog. January 4-6, affected by strong streams of cold air most parts will be overcast with light to moderate snow and then become sunny. Some of middle and eastern areas of Inner Mongolia will have heavy snowfall with force 4 to 6 northerly winds and lower temperatures dropping 6 to 10 Celsius degrees.

 

Northeast China: January 1-3, the region will be dominated by sunny to cloudy weather. January 4-6, affected by strong cold air most parts will have light to moderate snow while some of easternmost and southern parts will encounter heavy snowfalls with force 4 to 6 southerly and then northerly winds. Temperatures could drop 12 degrees or more. January 3-4, most of the region will be foggy.   

 

Central China: January 1-3, most parts will be overcast with light to moderate snow with more fog. January 4-6, affected by strong cold air the majority of the region will blow force 4 to 6 northerly winds from north to south with temperatures dropping 6 to 10 degrees. January 7, the region will be dominated by sunny skies.

 

East China: January 1-3, most parts will be cloudy to overcast with light to moderate rain or snow with more fog. January 4-6, affected by cold air the region will have force 4 to 6 northerly winds with temperature falling 4 to 8 degrees while the Shandong Peninsula will have force 6 to 7 northerly winds with moderate to heavy snowfall. January 7, most parts will be sunny with force 4 northerly winds possible in northern parts.

 

South China: January 1-4, most parts will be mainly cloudy to overcast with occasional showers or light rainfall accompanied by possible fog. January 5-7, affected by southerly cold air most of the region will blow force 4 with colder weather.

 

Southwest China: January 1-3, Tibet and eastern areas of the region will be overcast with light rain or snow and moderate rain or snow expected in some parts accompanied by fog. January 4-6, affected by cold air eastern sections will have light to moderate rain or snow with a drop in temperature. Southeastern Sichuan and some of Guizhou will receive hail while eastern parts of the Sichuan Basin, Chongqing and Guizhou will blow force 4 northerly winds. January 7, the region will be mainly sunny to cloudy.
