The long-awaited Hollywood blockbuster Shrek 2 will hit the big screen in Beijing over a week later, and its global box office record should reach even dizzier heights.

Shrek 2 replaced last year's dark horse Finding Nemo as the new world champion, with its global box office takings exceeding US$380 million since it was released in early May.
