A movie about Chinese war heroine, Zhao Yiman, has premiered in Beijing to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
The film looks at aspects of Zhao Yiman's character and life from the perspective of her son and presents her, through an internal dialogue, as a kind and respectable mother.
The premiere took place in Beijing's Great Hall of the People on the evening of July 19th with leading actress Zhang Han and other cast members in attendance.
This year is also the centenary of Zhao Yiman's birth.
Zhao Yiman was famous for leading local people in the northeast of China in the fight against Japanese troops and she was instrumental in setting up resistance to the invading forces in the region. She was arrested by the Japanese and was killed on August 2nd, 1936.
