Jackie Cheung Speaks Fondly of Perhaps Love in Beijing

Still enjoying his honor of Perhaps Love being selected as the closing film for Venice Film Festival, Peter Chan brought his costar, Jackie Cheung, Zhou Xun and Ji Jin Hee to Beijing to appear in the movie sound track contract signing ceremony on the 6th of September. The playful host, Taozi, was able to warmed the event up to the extent that even Jackie Cheung, who usually watches him mouth, opened up to tease Director Peter Chan. Here is how Jackie went, "I play the role of a director in the film. I tend to think from the very beginning that the director is actually a reflection on Peter himself although Peter never admits that.  The truth is, I once thought that I might actually want to direct a film one day, however, I give up after the experience with Perhaps Love. Even a person as gentile as Director Chan would lost his temper on the set, I really got scared and decide to let go this dream."

Perhaps Love is quoted to be the biggest production of musical film title in China (including Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan region) in 35 years. The original sound track signing event in Beijing this time aroused full attention of the media, there were representatives from hundreds of media companies attending the ceremony. If the title accumulates good spread of month from the Venice Film Festival, it will no doubt boost the box office of its simultaneous release in mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan next month. On this matter, Peter Chan himself is full of confidence.
